Performing Arts: Production

(specialisms include Stage Management, Make Up & Costume)

This course will be of particular interest to those who are interested in the performing arts industry - focusing on behind the scenes.

Options include: sound design, puppetry, productiuoon management,set design, mask making and crewing for performance. Projects include: backstage tours and workshops at the Rose theatre, creating sets for Primary school Christmas shows, theatre trips, V & A Costume and Theatre design exhibition, making puppets for a number of the school's drama productions.

 

 

 

Entry requirements

GCSE English at grade D or above

Drama, Art or Technology GCSE's would be a bonus

Assessment

How and when will I learn?

Through practical, work-related and hands-on projects that lead to assessment, typically a product or written piece which is marked by your teacher. The expectation is for you to spend time on each of the projects in your own time, which often means organising time in the art room, in the music technology suite etc. It could also mean work experience at a variety of theatres or settting up performance at  school or at local primary schools, as the need arises.
