Research Methods, education and application of sociological research methods to the study of education

Unit 2: Topics in Sociology

Families in households, beliefs in society (tbc)

Unit 3: Crime and Deviance with Theory and Methods

Crime, social distribution of crime, globalisation of crime and control of crime, research methods and the application of sociological theory

Entry requirements

GCSE grade 6 in English and grade B in History or Religious Studies.

Assessment

Three written papers (each paper is 33.3% of the total A Level).

Future opportunities

Sociology can lead to careers with GCHQ, the Civil Service, Social Services and Teaching.
