Performing Arts BTEC Level 3 at Kingswood Secondary Academy

Course description

If you have a passion and talent for performance across the
performing arts disciplines, then this course will interest you.
It can lead on to university courses in performance or a
professional career in the performance industry.

Course content

The course consists of a minimum of 6 units
(including 1 mandatory unit):
1. Performing to an audience (mandatory).
2. Site specific performance.
3. Film and TV acting.
4. Developing voice for the actor.
5. Variety Performance.
6. Script writing.

Entry requirements

5+ A*-C grades at GCSE including C grade in English or merit or above in BTEC performing arts.

Assessment

All units are coursework assessed. Assessment will take place
at the end of each unit by your teacher and will often require
you to perform in front of an audience. You will also be
required to document each unit in an actor’s journal/working
notebook or written assignment.
 
At the end of the course you will devise and take part in a
final major performance.

 

Future opportunities

This course can lead on to university courses in performance
or a professional career in the performance industry.
