Government and Politics A-Level at Wymondham High School

Course description

THE STUDY OF GOVERNMENT AND POLITICS is not only about what happens at national level but rather seeks to analyse and evaluate a wide range of political institutions, processes and behaviour; political arguments and explanations; and the relationship between those institutions, processes, ideologies, concepts, behaviour and values at national, local and international level. Students will develop a broad knowledge and understanding of the political systems of both the UK and the USA.

Entry requirements

Wymondham High prefer students taking this course to have a genuine interest in current affairs with GCSE English at grade C or above or History at grade B or above.

Future opportunities

The skills acquired as a result of studying Government and Politics mean that a range of professions including the law, journalism, the media, and the civil service are all areas which should be considered.
