BTEC Performing Arts Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at King's Leadership Academy Liverpool

Course description

  • This is an exciting course which will help students to explore performance, acting and the technical side of the theatre. You will look at the history of drama, and will be involved in producing your own performances using text based stimulus to produce work which will be showcased to a live audience.
  • Students will be able to work along professionals from the world of theatre and expressive arts as well as taking leading roles in the academy performances.

Entry requirements

  • 5 A* - C GCSE’s including English and Maths. If students are interested in performance, presentation and public speaking then this is the course for you. Students will also look at the technical aspects of the theatre such as lighting, sound and effects.

Future opportunities

  • After the course has finished you will gain a Subsidiary Diploma in Performing Arts which will open up access to the many opportunities in the Arts for a career, should students wish to follow this direction. The arts is now one of the biggest employers in the North West, especially with the recent opening of Media City in Salford.
