Production Arts Level 3 at Wiltshire College
This course is an ideal step for anybody with a passion for performing arts and wants to explore the technical aspects of productions further.
A unique partnership programme between Wiltshire College Salisbury and Salisbury Playhouse, this course is delivered both at the Salisbury campus and at Salisbury Playhouse by a professional team of acting, directing and technical practitioners who are experts in their specialist fields.
As a vocational based programme you will learn many new skills and develop experience. You are expected to have some experience in producing theatre, which can be from
engaging in a Youth Theatre, Drama/Dance Club or studying it at school.
You will experience real life skills in Theatre Production including lighting, sounds and stage management.
4 GCSEs grades A* to C including Maths or English or equivalent (or Merit or Distinction in a related subject at Level 2)

Performing Arts Business
The Historical Context of Performance
Production Arts Planning
Production for Theatre Performance

These units will be discussed and agreed with you to help support you to follow your preferred pathway.
Most units are achieved through practical project based performance work although there is a considerable amount of written research to do as well, which may need to be completed in your own time.
You will have the opportunity to support professional productions at Salisbury Playhouse which will be assessed as part of your programme.
The final qualification will be a BTEC Level 3 90 Credit/Extended Diploma in Production Arts.
Upon successful completion of this course you could progress onto Foundation Degrees, Degrees or Drama Schools to further develop your knowledge, skills and experience.
Students that have studied in the Performing Arts industry at Wiltshire College, in conjunction with Salisbury Playhouse, have gone on to a range of training at LAMDA, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Reading University and Bath Spa University.
