History A Level at St Augustine's CE High School
History is predominantly a classroom based subject but there are opportunities to attend academic study days in London. We are also hoping to run a Sixth Form trip to Berlin in July 2018.
To study History at A level you must have genuine passion for the subject as well as an interest in the way that the world has developed through the ages. You should enjoy investigation, discovery and debating various issues. A desire to learn how to analyse evidence in order to make up your own mind is also crucial.
Many of our students go on to study History, Politics or International Relations at degree level. History also combines well with maths and science subjects to create an attractive portfolio of qualifications enabling students to move on to a university science based course. It also provides an excellent foundation for a number of popular careers including journalism, law and business.
