Plumbing Apprenticeship Level 2 at Bedford College

Course description

This Apprenticeship will provide you with the skills, knowledge and experience you will need to progress your career in the plumbing trade. You will learn to undertake a range of duties, such as the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems, safety, hot and cold water systems, sanitation and central heating. This Apprenticeship will combine the practical hands-on experience of the workplace with the knowledge and understanding gained through a college course.

Entry requirements

To begin this Apprenticeship you will need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a relevant job role. You will also need 3 GCSEs at grades A-D (including English and Maths), or Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths.

Assessment

You will be assessed through ten online exams, along with 60 College-based practical assessments. Workplace assessments will also be undertaken to prove your competency.

Future opportunities

Learners who have taken this qualification will be able to progress into the following qualifications:

 

  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating (either gas option, oil option, solid fuel option, or environmental technologies)
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Heating (either gas option, oil option, solid fuel option, or environmental technologies).
