Course description

This qualification is a progression from the Warehousing and Storage Apprenticeship.The aim of this qualification is to prepare you for work roles where you have a higher degree of responsibility than you had during your Apprenticeship. A typical job role for a Logistics Operations Management Advanced Apprentice at Level 3 within a large organisation could be that of a Distribution Manager, their job would be:To manage the day to day running of the facility, ensuring the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods meet the required standards. Analysis of data to monitor and plan improvements to quality processes. To develop the business by gaining new contracts, analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions.This qualification is very flexible in its structure, enabling the organisation and individual to choose the optional units which best suit their work situation and job role.Like all work based training, the qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to your ability to perform a range of tasks connected with your work. You will plan a programme of development and assessment with an assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence and knowledge.

Future opportunities

With your Advanced Apprenticeship you can progress onto do a Foundation Degree in a related topic or move onto do a Management level Apprenticeship.
