Photography AS/A2 at Mangotsfield School

Course description

AS Level Photography is an inspiring and creative course.
We use mostly digital cameras and Photoshop to process
and develop imagery. A range of more experimental
techniques are explored including dark room processing.
Aims: Students will develop a wide range of practical
skills along with a fundamental knowledge base of
contemporary and historical Photographers and Artists.
These techniques and concepts will then be used as tools
in the development of each student’s portfolio.
Structure: Students follow an individually negotiated
sequence of topics that take into account their own
strengths and preferences. Students from both Artistic
and non-Artistic backgrounds can achieve a successful
and rewarding experience.

Entry requirements

Students who have studied photography at GCSE areexpected to have achieved at least a B grade. There isalso a requirement for students to have a C grade orhigher in English language to support the writtenelement of the course.
