AS /A2 Psychology at Colne Community School

Course description

The AS Psychology course is assessed in two modules: The modules are taken in June of the AS Level Year.

Unit 1. The topics covered in this unit are: Approaches to Psychology, Gender Development and Research Methods. Unit 2. The topics covered in this unit are as follows: Individual Differences, Social Psychology and Cognitive Psychology e.g. phobias, OCD, Conformity and obedience, memory and forgetting.

The A2 Psychology course is assessed in two modules: Again, both modules would be taken in June of Year 2.

Unit 3. The topics covered in this unit are as follows: Child Psychology, Cognition and Law, Forensic Psychology. Unit 4. The topics covered in this unit are as follows: Approaches, debates and methods in Psychology.

Entry requirements

Grade C in English Language and adouble grade C in science.
