VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing at Leeds West Academy

Course description

This qualification is based on the national occupational standards for hairdressing and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a senior hairdresser/stylist. Learners must achieve all the mandatory units which include; health and safety in the salon, anatomy and physiology, hairdressing consultation, hair cutting services, hair colouring services, setting and dressing services, blow-drying and finishing services.

Throughout this qualification, learners will also develop their knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients, provide a range of cutting and colouring services, and set, dress and finish the hair. Students will develop their communication and customer service skills, their commercial skills and their awareness of environmental sustainability, all of which are valued highly by employers.

Entry requirements

You should have a minimum of three GCSEs at grade 4 or above. You must be hard working, have commitment and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
