Music Practitioner: Performing Musician Award Level 1 at The Rushden Community College
The aims of the programme are to provide students with a broad background of the Music Industry; enable students to develop the musical skills required to facilitate progress and further study; enable students to make an assessment of their own strengths, areas for development and aptitude for work in the sector; develop student`s skills to become independent performers and composers.
You need to show an interest in the music sector and be able to play an instrument or sing. The ability to read music is not essential but enthusiasm is.
There are two units within each qualification: Unit 1 - Composing Music (ideas). Unit 2 - Live Music Performance.
Music Practitioner Award Level 2/3: Performing Musician.
You will study all practical aspects of your course within one of our music work spaces, often working collaboratively with other Level 1 and alongside Level 2 students. You will also receive tutorials on a regular basis to review progress. The course will consist of 2-3 taught hours per week, plus a minimum of two hours of practical supported self study.
