Physical Education at Ormiston Victory Academy

Course description

This course offers an in depth insight into the world of sport and its associated facets. It is a cross- curricular A-level with a scientific, sociological, historical and psychological base. In Year 1 students study participation in sports and recreation which focuses on the development of competitive sport and the effects of exercise on the human body. Students will also undertake four pieces of coursework; researching local and national provision of sport, analysing practical skills and undertake two practical roles of a performer, leader or official. At A2 students develop their knowledge gained at A2 to study the optimum preparations for sports performance and the technical support available to athletes.

Entry requirements

Seven grade Cs or above at GCSE level including English and Mathematics. Bs are required for the Sciences, English, Humanities and Languages
