Engineering (Craft Route) - Level 3 Diploma (Full Time) at Newcastle College

Course description

This is a 2 year programme which offers a thorough grounding in Engineering skills and will provide knowledge and practical applications that enable progression to employment, will cover a broad range of Engineering activities and disciplines and forms part of our commitment to foundation learning

Course content

The course is a 60 credit diploma in which the units studied could include:-

  • Working Safely in Engineering
  • Mathematics for Technicians
  • Mechanical Principles
  • Computer Aided Drawing
  • Engineering Drawing
  • Fabrication

You will also follow a programme of study to complement this award including, Maths, English and Experience of work

Entry requirements

5 GCSE's A-C including Maths, English and Science subject or equivalent at Pass level. If English is not your first language, you will need an IELTS score of 5.5 or above. You will also be required to attend the school induction programme.

Assessment

You will be assessed through assignments and practical tests.

Future opportunities

You may wish to progress onto a second year of study to give a Level 3 120 Credit Diploma
