3D Design BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at East Berkshire College

Course description

If you would like to create window display, interior design schemes, plan events or be a fashion stylist as a career this exiting creative and practical course is for you. You will gain real experience in our purpose built studios and windows where you will design, construct and install, make props, style mannequins, construct 3D scaled prototypes and design interior schemes to reflect a client brief.

Our experienced teachers have strong links with the creative industry and encourage you to undertake work experience during the 2nd year of the programme.

You will be encouraged to enter national competitions and undertake projects based in the local community.

The course is taught through lectures, practical studio work and trips to galleries and the retail environment, i.e. Westfield's and large retail establishments.

Entry requirements

You will need four GCSEs at grade C or above, including an art & design subject, or First Diploma in Art & Design.

At interview you should bring a portfolio of your work which could include DT, textiles, design, art and graphics.

Assessment

You are assessed via assignments and practical assessments. There is an opportunity for work experience in the industry.

Future opportunities

You can progress to Higher Education, retail display, interior design, event planning and visual merchandising.

A career in retail display, interior design, theatre design, graphic communication or events planning, visual merchandising.
