Extended Project Qualification Level 3 at Mount Grace School

Course description

The EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) is a Level 3 ‘free standing’ qualification. It comes with the point score equivalent to roughly half an A-level.

The Extended Project Qualification is an opportunity to undertake a project in a subject of your choosing – possibly related to one of your A levels. It provides an opportunity to develop research skills, build upon independent learning, construct an academic dissertation and deliver an effective presentation. These are skills much sought after at both university and employment.

Course content

To begin with you will have a lesson a week with a supervisor. The first part of the course focuses on:

  • choosing the topic for the project
  • how to research

Once you have chosen your project you will have weekly tutorials or one-to-one sessions with your supervisor to discuss your project.
