Introduction to Construction Crafts Entry Level 3 at Wirral Metropolitan College

Course description

The Entry 3 construction program is designed to prepare people to enter the industry in their chosen craft.

It has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions, and the test(s) are based on the learner showing what they can do as an individual through the completion of all the requirement of the qualification.

Course content

If you like working with your hands but are not quite sure what you are interested in this course allows you to try out lots of different skills to see which you like best.

The course allows you to learn new skills in multi-skills workshops, especially designed to accommodate anything from joinery through to brickwork or painting and decorating. All our staff are skilled, friendly and will support you throughout your studies.You will build skills in the following:

  • Joinery
  • Brickwork
  • Painting and Decorating

Plus you will develop your skills with literacy, numeracy and health and safety

Entry requirements

None necessary

If English is not your first language, you may need an assessment before enrolling on this course..

Assessment

Candidates must:- successfully complete one assignment for each mandatory unit- successfully complete one assignment for each chosen optional unit

Future opportunities

Progression on to other trade skills courses.You may progress on to a full Level 1 qualification in bricklaying, painting and decorating or joinery to further your learning and skills within a specialism.Jobs within the industry such as:

  • Joinery
  • Brickwork
  • Painting and Decorating

Further information

Students will be expected to supply their own safety boots, overalls, paper, files, folders and drawing equipment.
