Wood Occupations Apprenticeship Level 3 at Accrington and Rossendale College

Course description

The candidates will work on-site along side professionals acquiring skills and experience from their mentors.

The College course is made up of 40% practical work and 60% theory. The theory sessions will underpin your practical work, by covering health and safety, trade technology and other related subjects.

You will be required to achieve Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths if you do not have a grade C or above in your English and Maths GCSE.

Course content

Units include:

  • Safe working practices in construction
  • Building methods and construction technology
  • Interpret working drawing.

Entry requirements

Employment in Carpentry & Joinery with a company that undertakes the type of work that allows candidates to be assessed in the working environment.

Assessment

Students will undertake assessments both in the work place as well as at college they will collect evidence to be submitted in a portfolio.

Progression onto HNC programme moving forward to our professional route.
