Art and Design GCSE AQA 3201 at Sandown Bay Academy

Course description

Students opt for either a single or double award. A general art course where a varied programme of subjects and techniques are taught. This may include Drawing, Painting, Graphic Design, Ceramics, Printmaking and 3-Dimensional work. An examination grade is achieved by way of assessment of three pieces of coursework produced during Yr 10 and 11 under controlled test conditions - set by the examining board.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Art and Design or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to art and design such as an Architect, Interior Designer or Art Teacher. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
