Course description

You will examine topics and issues that are relevant in today's society through key contemporary developments such as digital technology, business ethics and globalisation.

Course content

You will study the interrelated nature of Business using business models, theories and techniques to support analysis of contemporary business issues and situations. You will examine topics and issues that are relevant in today's society, through key contemporary developments such as digital technology, business ethics and globalisation.

 

Entry requirements

5 good GCSE passes, including a grade 5 in GCSE Maths.

 

Assessment

3 external exams: Papers 1,2 & 3, each 2 hours in length and all equally weighted at 33% of the A level

 

 

Financial information

Nothing specific is needed to study this subject.  However, it is strongly recommended that students take an active interest in the business environment by reading quality newspapers and using relevant websites such as www.bbc.co.uk

Future opportunities

Further study of Business at degree level in combination with courses such as Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Management, Logistics, Retailing and Languages. Entry into employment/higher level apprenticeships areas such as Banking, Retail and Accounting.
