Vehicle Maintenance Diploma Level 3 at Gloucestershire College

Course description

This course will provide the opportunity to develop the skills you require for a rewarding career as you will have progressed from Level 2.

You willl learn all aspects of motor vehicle engineering so that you really understand how a car works. You will be taught car maintenance by our experienced lecturers and you'll get to learn and practice your skills in our purpose built motor vehicle workshop. 

You will also learn about diagnosing vehicle transmission faults, electrical system faults, engine faults and chassis system faults.

Entry requirements

  • If you have a real passion for cars and you can commit to the course for one year, then apply now. You will need to have successfully completed the Level 2 Motor Vehicle course with merit and the functional skills and have 4-5 GCSE's at A* to C Grade including English and Maths.
  • Selection is based upon a successful interview, short assessment and a positive reference.

Assessment

You will be assessed by the tutors throughout the course on both the theory and practical aspects of the course.

Financial information

You will need steel toe capped shoes and a set of overalls that will protect your clothes and body. You will be informed before you begin the course of anything else you may need to buy.

Future opportunities

After you have successfully completed the course, you will have the necessary qualifications for a job in the motor trade or to enrol on an FE course such as Motorsport Engineering.
