Course description

Advance on to the Care of the Elderly Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship and help to meet the personal care needs and social needs of residents in a care environment. The willingness to take up this further training will show your dedication to the industry and enables access to a wider variety of roles and job opportunities.

The Care of the Elderly Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship enables trainees to see not only the customer facing side of the role but also aspects of managerial responsibilities. You can train in roles like a senior healthcare support worker, senior healthcare assistant, senior care worker and supervisor. You may be employed by the NHS, the local authority or private health organisations. A caring, sensitive and respectful manner is essential in helping to create a non-confrontational environment for these individuals that you will care for. This qualification will enable you to develop your communication skills and professional manner whilst working in a team and liaising with families. You will work in a customer facing role and will need to develop excellent customer service skills. Working as an Apprentice means you can put your skills into practice as you learn.

Assessment

You will be assessed in the workplace by your assessor and will build a portfolio of evidence which will be internally and externally assessed.
