Vocational Studies - Level 1 Diploma at Yorkshire Coast College
The BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Vocational Studies is designed for individuals who want to build on skills already gained within vocational settings but are still undecided which vocational pathway may suit them.
This programme is also a suitable progression route for anyone who has previously completed the Entry 3 Level Diploma in Vocational Studies.
During the programme, learners will focus on basic vocational skills needed to help them progress into vocational centered learning, together with additional independent living skills training.
This programme will allow the learner to experience four vocational settings and the basic skills within that vocational area. Included in the programme are:
- Functional Skills Maths
- Functional Skills English
- Functional Skills ICT
- Independent living skills including; community awareness, money management and citizenship.
There are no formal entry requirements for this programme, other than a willingness to study within Contruction with a view to gaining employment within the sector or applying for a Full Time programme in September
No prior knowledge, understanding, skills or qualifications are required before learners can register for this qualification.
If appropriate, learners may choose to progress onto a Level 2 programme within their chosen vocational area or look enter the world of work.
