Further Mathematics OCR Advanced GCE at Chiswick School
Further Maths has three final exams in A Level. This course explore more topics in Pure Maths, Statistics and Mechanics as well as Decision Mathematics. Decision Mathematics involves the study of algorithms, their implementation and efficency. Because algorithms underpin much of computer science, the importance and study of Decision Maths has grown dramatically over the last few decades.
5 A*-C grades including grade 8 in Maths in Maths and 4 or 5 in English Language if part of a Mixed Pathway or 8 A*-C including grade 8 in Maths and English Language if part of a A Level Pathway. B grade or grade 6 in the A level chosen to study.
Mathematics skills are at the centre of the information revolution and mathematics is used as a tool in many fields such as natural sciences, engineering, medicine and social services. Maths A-level is excellent for most university courses and opens doors in virtually all professions.
