Automotive Apprenticeships at REMIT

Course description

Remit Training is currently offering a number of exciting apprenticeships within the exciting and fast paced automotive industry.

Automotive Apprenticeships available in:

·         Light Vehicle Technician

·         Heavy Vehicle Technician

·         Vehicle Paint Technician

·         Vehicle Body Repair Technician

·         Parts Consultant

·         Mechanical and Electrical Trim Technician


We are looking for bright and enthusiastic individuals, who show keen attention to detail, with a willingness to learn and a can do attitude.

The automotive industry in the UK is one of the strongest industries in the country. The UK is home to seven volume car manufactures, nine bus and coach manufacturers and over 100 specialist brands. Car manufacturing volumes are course to break all-time records by 2017. Over 1.5million vehicles and 2.5 million engines are produced in the UK each year. In June 2014 the UK had its best mew car sales in 9 years.

Course content

These programmes are based full time within the workplace and during your first year you will work towards an NVQ level 2 & 3 qualifications along with functional skills in maths, English and ICT as well as an employment rights & responsibilities and personal learning thinking skills projects. 

Entry requirements

Ideally you will be predicted or have GCSEs in Maths, English and ICT (or equivalent) but these are not essential. 

Financial information

Working full time at apprenticeship minimum wage you will earn around £109.20 per week.

But some employers will choose to pay more and include other benefits for the apprentice


The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £2.73 per hour.  From October 1st 2015 it increases to £3.30 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

Future opportunities

Ambitious apprentices who complete their apprenticeship could expect to earn a starting wage of £12,000, this could rise to £28,000 once the apprentice gains further experience throughout their career.
