Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (previously known as NVQ)Diplomas in Health and Social Care are made up of mandatory, competence, context and knowledge units which are assigned different amounts of credits.Learners must achieve 46 credits to gain the Level 2 Diploma, this must consist of:• 24 mandatory credits• 22 credits from competence and context unitsLearners may choose between three different pathways to follow:• Dementia• Adult• Learning disabilitiesAdvice will be given by your trainer to enable you to choose the option that suits you best.Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (Level 2)This part of your Apprenticeship ensures that you understand the theory behind the practical side of care and is assignment based. There will be 4 assignments to write; a variety of methods are used to present the information required.
