Students look at how a business uses the internet to improve its performance and sales. Specifically topics that will be assessed are: the role of the internet in marketing, benefits of internet marketing, internet marketing and the marketing mix and the effectiveness of the internet.

Unit 13 Title Recruitment and Selection in Business
Know the processes involved in recruitment planning
Understand the implications of the regulatory framework for the process of recruitment and selection
Be able to prepare documentation involved in the selection and recruitment process
Be able to participate in a selection interview

Unit 14 Title Aspects of Employment Law
Understand the different types of employment contract and the impact of employment legislation
Know the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees
Understand the various perspectives in employee relations
Know how and when contracts of employment are terminated

Unit 16 Title
Human Resources Management in Business

Know the factors that are involved in human resource planning in organisations
Know how organisations motivate employees

Understand the importance of managing employee performance at work

Entry requirements

Certainly students should have grade C or above in GCSE Maths and English Language.

Assessment

Students are assessed throughout the year internally and then externally moderated. There is no exam. Students will be awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction

Future opportunities

Business Studies is an extremely useful subject to study. Combining aspects of marketing, finance and human resource management, there is a case to be made for this being a vital subject for any student whatever their future career!
