Course description

The AIM Awards Interior Design Skills qualification suite is a response to the industry need for focused qualifications which reflect current practice, and provide a major contribution to the qualifications currently available for Creative Industries.

Together these qualifications provide a realistic introduction to, and progression within, the industry, encouraging the development of business understanding, and creative, technical and practical skills. The qualification suite is structured to facilitate flexible, tailored learning to meet individual and local requirements. It will allow individuals to develop their understanding and skills to gain successful employment in the sector, and to support the development of the interior design industry through the provision of a more skilled workforce.

The qualifications are particularly suitable for those who are seeking employment in the interior design sector or who are already in the industry but are looking to develop new skills. They provide a realistic introduction to the skills needs of the industry and address the creative perspective as well as the technical and business approaches required to succeed in present-day industry.

Entry requirements

Level 2 or equivalent

Assessment

To be awarded the qualification, learners must provide evidence of achievement of all the assessment criteria for all the units specified in the rules of combination
Suitable assessment tasks are internally set at your centre that allow learners to be able to provide evidence of achievement of the assessment criteria of the unit(s)
