Course description

A BTEC level 2 Diploma is designed to provide students with a broad knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Sector.As well as develop practical skills needed to work within the sector.

Course content

You will study topics such as Human Lifespan Development;Health and Social Care Values;Healthy Living;Effective Communication in Health and Social Care;Creative and therapeutic activities in Health and Socila Care .As well as gain practical work experience within the Health and Social Care sector

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grades D to G Other related level 1 and level 2 qualifications and no criminal record.

You will need a caring attitude and a desire to help and support others who may be vulnerable. You will need to be able to communicate effectively with others ,and have the desire to be part of a team. you will need to be committed to promoting equality and diversity and individual rights.

Assessment

Your course work will be assessed internally and you will also complete to external papers

Financial information

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

Future opportunities

The BTEC level 2 Diploma prepares you for employment and also provides a good grounding to go on to a more advanced course or training such as: BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care and L3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator)
