Construction And The Built Environment L3 90 Credit Diploma at North Lindsey College

Course description

This is a vocational qualification, which offers learners a route into employment or Higher Education. Students will cover a range of fields including architecture, civil engineering, building services engineering, quantity surveying, land surveying, construction management, building surveying, building control and town planning.

Course content

You will study the following nine units to achieve the Level 3 90 credit Diploma, equivalent to one A Level. 
Health, safety and welfare in construction and the built environment 
Sustainable construction 
Maths in construction and the built environment 
Science and materials in construction and the built environment
Building technology in construction
Graphical detailing in construction and the built environment
Setting out processes in construction and civil engineering
Building surveying in construction 
Building regulations and control in construction

Entry requirements

A minimum of four GCSE's at Grade C or above which must include English and Maths or an appropriate Intermediate or Level 2 course. 


Methods of assessment include assignments, case studies, laboratory exercises and coursework, leading to an external assessment in Construction Technology and Design. You will also develop a portfolio of evidence.

Future opportunities

Students who successfully achieve the 90 Credit Diploma can progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma (equivalent to 3 A Levels). 

The Level 3 Extended Diploma could help you to move into Higher Education to study for a degree, HND/HNC or foundation degree.
