Dance at Eggbuckland Community College

Course description

The BTEC Dance course offers a wide variety of dance styles, techniques and choreographic opportunities. It provides learners with a broadened education and training for employment in the performing arts pathway of dance. Learners will be able to develop their abilities through knowledge and skills of dance in a vocational setting. Students will be able to develop their physical skills as well as their skills as a choreographer and will be given opportunities to perform dances they have created in lessons. Students will also be working towards Levels 1 and 2 in the Dance Leaders Award where they will work with local Primary schools. This course offers a wide variety of new and exciting skills in dance as well as working on an individual fitness, strength and flexibility.

Entry requirements

 Dance experience at either GCSE or BTEC level 2, gaining grade C or Merit (or above) Dance experience outside of the College setting A passion for Dance and performing to an audience
