Course description
This course will prepare you with hair and make-up techniques for a career in the media industry.
Course content
You will learn a wide range of hair and make-up techniques. You will develop skills in applying photographic make-up, dressing hair and create an image based on a theme. You will also learn tanning techniques, perm eyelashes, apply face paint and body art, as well as colour, lighten and plait hair.

Entry requirements
4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (or equivalent) including English and Maths OR Successful completion of a relevant subject at Level 1.
You will also be required to have a satisfactory interview and good references.
Assessment
You will be assessed throughout you time at college, through your work on models in Aspire and in work experience.
Written tests are on-line and Multiple choice.
A minimum of 3-hours a week home study is required.
The final qualification is a Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-up.
Future opportunities
Upon completion you can progress onto further beauty or hair qualifications, or into the competitive industry of media and production.
