Spanish AS/A2 Level at Northampton School for Boys

Course description

Apart from consolidating and developing your present skills in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, you will learn about Spain and to discuss and write about topics such as multi-media, culture, relationships and healthy living. In Year 13 you will have the chance to study two cultural figures and do in-depth research into their lives and work.

Entry requirements

Along with the School’s minimum requirements, you will need a minimum grade B in GCSE Spanish.  You must enjoy communicating in Spanish and be enthusiastic about developing contacts with Spain or other Spanish-speaking countries.


The final examination tests the skills mentioned above in multi-skilled tests.  You will be expected to demonstrate your knowledge of Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries as well as your ability to understand and communicate in Spanish.   

Future opportunities

UK Businesses suffer on an international level due to a lack of personnel with language skills.  With an AS or A Level in a language you will be a more attractive prospect both for universities and employers, and ultimately you could increase your earning potential.
