AS/A Level GCE Art: Fine Art at Queen Elizabeth's Academy

Course description

At AS Level:

Students are expected to:

  • work from direct observation from primary sources;
  • document and record via sketches, photographs and notes from secondary sources;
  • produce own explanatory preparation sheet or equivalent, exploring a range of materials and processes;
  • develop and relate the preparation sheet into a coherently planned piece, via sketches or equivalent.

At A2 Level:

Candidates are required to select one question from each unit. Then they are expected to:

  • write a personal study of 1000-3000 words
  • work from direct observation from primary sources;
  • document and record via sketches, photographs and notes from secondary sources;
  • produce own explanatory preparation sheets using a range of alternative materials and processes;
  • develop and relate preparatory work into a finished piece through the most appropriate medium, process or technique.

Entry requirements

Students need at least a Grade C in English Language to study this AS/A Level Art
