Route to Work at Kidderminster College

Course description

This course is aimed at people with a learning disability who have a desire to improve their skills and gain knowledge in order to increase employment opportunities. The course is delivered in partnership with The Emily Jordan Foundation. You will develop employability, personal and social skills through a wide range of practical activities in a real work environment.

Work experience will be an integral part of the course.

Entry requirements

Entry Level 3 qualification and/or the ability to work at Level 1.

Assessment

A varied portfolio of evidence or an external exam

Financial information

Suitable clothing and footwear for the workplace. Additional costs will also be required for weekly cookery sessions, details will be provided at interview.

Future opportunities

Progression routes depend on your experience and achievement on the course.  Many learners progress to further full-tiime courses and supported employment.
