Business EDEXCEL BTEC Diploma Level 3 (90-Credit) at Cornwall College

Course description

Ideal if: you are fascinated with how businesses run and are interested in experiencing many different business related topics in a practical and dynamic manner.

You'll need: to have an ethusiasm for the subject and a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above, including English or Mathematics.

You'll learn: about modern business practices and how firms run themselves and the challenges they face in a highly competitive and ever changing global place.

Expect: to study a diverse set of subjects which will give you an insight into many career pathways including finance, marketing, economics, business law and website design.

You'll love: the input from guest speakers and the visits to relevant local businesses.

You'll go onto: university studies such as our Foundation Degree in Business or Bachelors Degree (Arts) in Business Enterprise and Management.

If you want to set up your own business or succeed in an existing organisation, this course is built around supporting you in setting up and running a micro business for a period of at least eight months.

Course content

You will interact with national, regional and local entrepreneurs, working on a range of business challeneges and have the opportunity to work closely with a local business on a variety of projects and activities. Your study will include:

  • E-commerce and trading online
  • Internet marketing
  • The English legal system - business, contract and employment law
  • Accounting
  • Retailing

You will have the opportunity to take part in the Young Enterprise competition and take part in a social enterprise challenge.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grades A*-C (including English or mathematics) or equivalent qualification.

On successful completion you will be able to progress to:

  • CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing
  • Apprenticeship
