Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles Level 2 at Ashford College

Course description

You will discover how to meet health and safety requirements in the workshop and learn how to:
- Carry out routine vehicle maintenance
- Remove and replace units and components relating to engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes and electrical and electronic systems
You will be assessed by practical and written tasks and externally set examinations. Supported work experience is arranged with your tutor.

Entry requirements

You will need four GCSEs at Grades D/3 or above, including English and maths. Alternatively, a Level 1 Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance with Grade D/3 GCSE in English and maths or functional skills Level 2. We will invite you to attend an interview where you will need to show your interest in the subject and the potential to succeed.

Future opportunities

Progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, Intermediate or Advanced Apprenticeship or enter employment.
