A BTEC National Extended Certificate is a level 3 qualification that will provide a vocational approach to studying Business. Through analysing real businesses and applying knowledge to ‘real life’ scenarios, all students will have the opportunity to learn
a huge variety of skills that will form a strong basis for them to either use for their
progression into university or into the world of business. This is an exciting opportunity to achieve highly in a
predominantly continual assessment course. This qualification is equivalent to one A Level.
The BTEC National Extended Certificate is comprised of 4 units of which 3 are mandatory and 2 are external.
Mandatory content (83%). External assessment (58%).
Candidates will cover: Exploring business , Personal and Business Finance (External examination)
Candidates will cover a further compulsory unit and one optional unit:
Developing a marketing campaign (Controlled assessment), Recruitment and selection process
How is the course assessed?
All units except for Financial Accounting and Developing a Marketing Campaign are assessed via continual assessment and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded once all units are completed.
Where can this course take me?
It is our aim in the Business department to ensure we provide every student with the tools they will need to step into a University course or pursue a specific career. This level 3 diploma will provide the vehicle necessary to achieve this. If you decide
to go to university or college you could take a
degree or a BTEC Higher National in subjects such as:
· International Business
· Marketing & Management
· Finance and Accounting
