Government and Politics AS Level at Harrow College

Course description

Concepts such as power, authority, rights and citizenship as well as a thorough examination of British politics and its institutions. This would include topics such as Parliament, Prime Minister, pressure groups and electoral systems.

By a variety of methods including lecture, discussion and debate, video, documentary work.

Entry requirements

6 GCSE grades A* - C in National Curriculum Subjects, including English & Maths and including at least 2 grades at A/B. Screening test showing Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.

Assessment

Through two one hour and twenty minute papers at the end of the year and throughout the year by short answer and essay homework as well as mock tests at the end of each of the two units.
