AS Applied ICT at John Colet School

Course description

One of the attractions of the Applied ICT course for many students is the high percentage of coursework. However, before you select this course you need to recognise the pressures that this will put on you to deliver week in week out for the whole year of your course. On the other hand, well directed effort will be rewarded with a high grade.

Course content

Summer Year 12:

Unit G040: Using ICT to Communicate (coursework module 33.3% of the total marks)

Unit G042: ICT Solutions for Individuals and Society (coursework module 33.3% of the total marks)

External exam

Unit G041: How Organisations use ICT (case study based external exam 33.3% of the total marks) Duration (1 hour 30 minutes)

Entry requirements

To gain entry to this course you need to have C grade in English Language or English Literature GCSE. A - C grade in ICT at GCSE is also required. However, we do consider candidates who did not take ICT at GCSE but can demonstrate good skills in programs such as Word, Excel and Publisher.
