Course description

If you are interested in Sport and Leisure, this course will give you a solid grounding. All teaching will be related to a vocational setting and will prepare you for the world of work. You will learn about the body, training, exercise, fitness, health, safety and lifestyle, as well as practical team sports.

Course content

You will study 7 units:

 Principles of anatomy and physiology in sport

 Physiology of fitness

 Assessing risk in sport

 Fitness training and programming

 Fitness testing for sport and exercise

 Practical team sports

 Exercise, health and lifestyle

Entry requirements

Merit at level 2 BTEC Sport and or B in science

Assessment

The assessment for this course is entirely by coursework with no exam taken. Students are required to complete a series of vocationally related tasks, producing leaflets, powerpoints and delivering presentations
