Supporting Teaching and Learning - Level 2 (Intermediate) at Alliance Learning

Course description

Alliance Learning offers Intermediate Supporting Teaching and Learning and Advanced Supporting Teaching and Learning (Teaching Assistant) Apprenticeships through out Greater Manchester, if you want to start on a route into Teaching, then this would be the course for you!

Course content

In school you will carry out a variety of daily duties associated with a Teaching Assistant role, these could include getting the classroom ready for lessons, listening to children read, helping children who need extra support to complete tasks, helping teachers to complete written records, supporting teachers in managing behaviour, supervising group activities, helping with outings and sports events and carrying out administrative tasks.

•You will complete written work, discussions, creative tasks, and presentations using ICT as part of the coursework requirements.

•You will be observed working with children on a regular basis throughout the course by your Assessor.

•You will attend training sessions covering areas such as Literacy and Numeracy, Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity and Child Development.

Entry requirements

Preferably GCSE's A - C in English and Maths

Some employers require specific GCSE grades

Assessment

You will be required to sit an English, Maths and ICT initial assessment before starting the Apprenticeship programme to check you are at a suitable level.

Financial information

National Minimum Apprenticeship wage is £3.30 per hour.

 

Future opportunities

On completion of your Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship, you can progress onto a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.

Classroom Assistant

Behaviour Support Assistant

Pastoral or Bilingual Support Assistant
