Health and Social Care BTEC First Diploma at Riverside College Halton
During the course you will study a range of units including: - Communication and individual rights - Individual needs within the health and social care sector - Human lifespan development - Vocational experience You will also undertake work experience within a range of care environments including residential and nursing homes (60 hours). You will also study a range of basic skills as part of the course. Basic skills enables you to demonstrate employability in the workplace, and they are a compulsory part of the course.
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D or above (including English and a further 3 core subjects).
Successful completion of the course is achieved through a variety of assessment methods including essays, projects, work-based assignments, case studies and presentations. Some units will be externally assessed. Additional guidance is given through group and individual tutorial support.
Successful completion of this nationally recognised course may lead directly to employment in the caring services e.g. day care, residential or community work. Progression to BTEC National Diploma course or A Levels.
A current police check (including POVA) must be carried out before acceptance onto the course.
