Sport BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Hammersmith Academy

Course description

The Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Sport is a two-year programme. The course combines practical sports activity with academic study giving students the opportunity to combine sport and recreation units with elements of outdoor pursuits.

Seven units are studied over the two years: four of these are mandatory units and are fundamental to the programme. The remaining units are classed as optional units which allow specialisation in sports development and fitness. This allows the development of knowledge and skills in a variety of specialist areas including the body in action and sports performance. It also offers the opportunity to engage practical skills and sporting knowledge in a variety of exercise settings.

Entry requirements

Eight or more GCSEs at grades A*–C including English and Maths, as well as a minimum grade B in Science and Physical Education.
