Childcare BTEC National Award at University Academy Keighley

Course description

The purpose of the BTEC Nationals is to provide a learning experience that is focused on the learner, enabling learning that draws on the experiences of learners but that is closley linked to the vocational sector. Therefore work experience and links to the workplace form a central part of the programme.

Course content

The aim of the qualification is to provide a basis of knowledge which covers the Common Core for learners who wish to work in the Children's Care, learning and Development sector. Specialist units provide the opportunity to tailor programmes to specific vocations or for the exploration of more specialist aspects of job roles within the sector.

Future opportunities

Learners can progress onto BTEC National Certificate and Diploma or Higher Education including BTEC Higher National Qualifications or into employment.
