Physical Education AS/A2 at Stanborough School

Course description

If you have a lively and enquiring mind, an interest in sport, a willingness to explore new ideas and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively, then the A Level in Physical Education is for you. At AS level you will study the Social Basis of Sport and Recreation, Practical Assessment and Performance and Training.
In the second year you will move onto Global issues in International Sport and Scientific Principles of Sport and Exercise. In each year students will be practically assessed and will produce a related course work element. There will also be one written examination. Students with a Physical Education qualification have access to a wide range of possible career and higher education opportunities. The course not only supports applications for a wide range of university courses such as sport science and physiotherapy, but also can lead to further training in such areas as recreational management, leisure activities, the armed forces and the civil service.

Entry requirements

A*-C at GCSE, equivalent or similar subject. APS: 40 or above
