Mathematics Studies Level 3 at John Masefield High School
The new Core Maths qualifications is a Level 3 Mathematics course for students in post-16 education who have passed GCSE Mathematics, ideally at Grade B (new grade 6) or above but are not taking A-level Mathematics. It is equivalent to half an A-level.
You will study a range of maths, including data analysis, financial maths, Fermiestimation, and mathematical modelling. There are some optional elements that include using statistical models and distributions, graphical work or critical path analysis and risk analysis.
The course is assessed at the end of Y13 by two equally weighted papers of 1hour 30 mins.
