Dance AS/A-Level at Rickmansworth School

Course description

This qualification provides progression from GCSE Dance as a well as forming a basis for higher education; however, no prior dance qualification is required. It is accepted that some students will have gained relevant experience in dance without necessarily gaining a qualification in the subject. The course is based on contemporary dance technique; however, students from all dance background are welcome. The content of the course is in-depth and detailed. Students are required to attend extra rehearsals for choreography and performance in addition to their timetabled lessons.

If GCSE Dance taken, minimum grade BIf not, relevant dance experience

COMPONENT 1 - PERFORMANCE & CHOREOGRAPHY PRACTICAL EXAM 50% of AS Level mark

COMPONENT 2 - CRITICAL ENGAGEMENT WRITTEN EXAM 50% of AS Level mark
