Geography AS/A level at Highbury Fields School

Course description

A-level Geography offers a natural progression from GCSE.  This engaging and flexible course gives students the opportunity to engage with the relationship of human populations with each other over space and time. It is also an opportunity to explore the relationships human populations have made with their physical environments, locally and globally. Students will also begin to consider their own geographical role in relation to themes and issues being studied.

2. Geographical Skills

A2 Level

1. Contemporary Geographical Issues

2. Geography Fieldwork Investigation or Geographical Issue Evaluation

Entry requirements

Six GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths and minimum grade B in English Language. Also require a minimum grade B in geography or a humanities related subject.

Assessment

100% examination

Future opportunities

AS and A-level Geography allow for progression onto higher education studies in both Geography-related subjects and other subjects.
